Happy Wednesday, Everypeeps! As promised, here’s a post… with substance! (Huzzah!)

So, I lost misplaced my debit card. Pretty much 100% of the times that something like this has happened, I end up finding it within a few days. So I’m not freaking out quite yet (though I am keeping an eye on my account online in case any surprising charges show up!).

But you know what you’re supposed to do when you lose a credit or debit card? Report it stolen/lost, obviously.

How do you do that?

Call the number on the back of your card-ohwaityourcardisgone…

Enter Lemon! Lemon actually has WAY more functions than what I’m about to mention, but I wanted to mention my favorite use for the app: a sort of virtual card locker.

With the app, you snap a photo of the front and back of your credit/debit/membership cards, and Lemon stores it securely on your phone – and on their servers. To access the card info on your phone, you have to enter a 4-digit passcode, which means that even if your phone is stolen – your card info is still safe!

The app stores both the photos of the cards and, with certain credit cards, creates a high quality graphic representation of the card – which is super slick, and pretty pretty visually pleasing (I love strikethrough).

In addition to storing your CC info securely on your phone (which is not only convenient, but also awesome if you do happen to lose a card – you know the number to call AND still have your CC number so you can tell your CC company which card to cancel), you can actually copy the text of your CC number through the app – which allows you to make purchases from your phone a little easier.

The app also tracks receipts, spending, and has other nifty features – but I tend to just use it as a virtual wallet (sort of), which is super sweet. Of course, if you have the new Galaxy S3, you already have Google Wallet… and I hate you.

That’s all for now, Everypeeps – go get yourself some Lemon aid!
